Volunteering Internships

Volunteering and Interning with Breaking Bread

We have partnered with African Sunrise Volunteers to provide a Volunteer or an Internship opportunity for those from overseas.

For internships, we accept mainly Social Work and Teaching students, although we will happily accommodate any student who wants to volunteer with our organisation.

Our co-director Sheradia oversees all the cooking and feeding and is the lead person the volunteers and interns will report to and work with Breaking Bread.

Interactions With The Homeless

Regular interactions with the homeless to talk about their needs

In addition to this basic schedule, there will be activities days for the local children, which will be organised when they are off school for half-term holidays.

We have the trust of the community we work with. We have assisted with arranging social worker sessions, family reunification, and Sheradia has personally assisted several people with substance abuse issues to get clean and integrate back into society.

We believe that you will find volunteering in Cape Town to be both challenging and rewarding. Our previous volunteers always manage to create strong bonds with the homeless community, and we find the experience to be both positive and productive. Not only will you get the chance to make a real difference with people who desperately need as much assistance as possible, you will be doing it in one of the most unique and beautiful cities in the world.
